This was the first project I embarked on in architecture. The project was for us to compile a collage that expressed the reaction we had for the buildings at Bras Basah. Some of the buildings included the Singapore Art Museum, Singapore Management University and CHIJMES.

 

My team and I wanted to express the complexity of the facades of the buildings. We observed that the older buildings like the CHIJMES and the Singapore Art Museum had more detailed intricate facades while the modern SMU building had a simpler facade.

 

Therefore, we created a collage that constitutes the more complex facades on the left while the simpler ones on the right. To further emphasise the change from the complex to the simple facades, we made the pictures disperse.
